Lockwood 202 Exterior Round Corner Plate - Privacy Indicating Emergency Turn & Lever 98 | Artefact Series | Satin Stainless Steel
The Lockwood 202 Series Exterior Plate with Privacy Indicating Emergency Turn and Lever 98 is part of the distinguished Artefact range of round corner plate door furniture - designed, assembled and customised in Australia for the Australian market. This exterior plate combines a privacy indicating emergency turn with Lever 98, providing the complete exterior solution for privacy amenity doors in commercial, healthcare, aged care and public-access buildings.
The privacy indicating emergency turn displays occupied or vacant status from the outside when the inside occupant engages the turn snib, and incorporates an emergency release allowing entry from the exterior in an emergency without damaging the furniture. The 202 Series with lever meets the requirements of AS1428.1-2009 (Design for Access and Mobility). No cylinder or engraving - this is a clean, unadorned plate suited to general commercial privacy door applications paired with a Lockwood Synergy 3570 Series mortice lock.
The 202 Series features the same 162 x 162mm plate profile as the 200 Series but with 10mm radius corners. The plate pairs back-to-back with the 203 Series interior plate (round corner) and is compatible with Lockwood Synergy 3570 and Selector 3770 Series Mortice Locks, latches and push/pull doors. Supplied in Satin Stainless Steel in both left and right hand.

Helpful Tips
- Lever 98 vs Lever 96: This plate uses Lever 98. If a broader choice of finishes is required - including Natural Anodised Aluminium - the Lever 96 version (item code 20214NN/96) is available in more finish and handing combinations. Both levers are specified for the 200 Series plate range and both meet AS1428.1-2009.
- Emergency Turn vs Turnknob: This plate has an emergency turn with emergency release (Function 14). If no emergency release is required and the door is paired with a Synergy 3570 lock, refer to the turnknob variant (Function 16, item code 20216NN/96). Consult your building certifier if unsure which is appropriate.
- How the privacy indicator works: When the inside occupant engages the turn snib, the indicator on this exterior plate changes to show occupied. When released it returns to vacant.
- Emergency release: The exterior plate allows staff or carers to open the door in an emergency using a coin, flat tool or dedicated release key without damaging the furniture.
- Exterior plate - pairs with 203 Series: This is the outside face plate. It must be paired with a 203 Series interior plate (round corner) - not a 201 Series (square corner). The interior plate should include a turn snib and lever to complete the amenity door set.
- Concealed fixings: This plate uses concealed fixing studs. The paired interior 203 plate must use visible fixings - confirm this when ordering the interior plate.
- Handing: Determined by which side the hinges are on when facing the door from outside. Left hand = hinges on the left.
- Thick doors: For doors 45-55mm, order long fixing screws SP2000-208 separately.
- Non-returnable: Confirm handing before ordering - this item cannot be returned once purchased.
