Lockwood 202 Exterior Round Corner Plate - Privacy Indicating Emergency Turn & Lever 96 | Artefact Series

The Lockwood 202 Series Exterior Plate with Privacy Indicating Emergency Turn and Lever 96 is part of the distinguished Artefact range of round corner plate door furniture - designed, assembled and customised in Australia for the Australian market. This exterior plate combines a privacy indicating emergency turn with a DDA-compliant Lever 96, providing the complete exterior solution for privacy amenity doors in commercial, healthcare, aged care and public-access buildings.

The privacy indicating emergency turn displays occupied or vacant status from the outside when the inside occupant engages the turn snib, and incorporates an emergency release allowing entry from the exterior in an emergency without damaging the furniture. Lever 96 provides compliant lever-operated access in accordance with AS1428.1-2009 (Design for Access and Mobility). No cylinder or engraving - this is a clean, unadorned plate suited to general commercial privacy door applications.

The 202 Series features the same 162 x 162mm plate profile as the 200 Series but with 10mm radius corners. The plate pairs back-to-back with the 203 Series interior plate (round corner) and is compatible with Lockwood Selector 3770 and Synergy 3570 Series Mortice Locks, latches and push/pull doors. Available in Natural Anodised Aluminium and Satin Stainless Steel, both left and right hand.

Helpful Tips Helpful Tips

  • Exterior plate - pairs with 203 Series: This is the outside face plate. It must be paired with a 203 Series interior plate (round corner) - not a 201 Series (square corner). The interior plate for a privacy amenity door typically includes a turn snib and lever.
  • No engraving on this variant: This plate has no symbol or text engraving. If accessible symbol identification is also required on the plate face, refer to the DDA symbol variant (item code 20214EN/96RSS) which adds the disability symbol outlined infill engraving.
  • How the privacy indicator works: When the inside occupant engages the turn snib, the indicator on this exterior plate changes to show the room is occupied. When the snib is released it returns to vacant.
  • Emergency release: The exterior plate allows staff or carers to open the door in an emergency using a coin, flat tool or dedicated release key without damaging the furniture.
  • Natural Anodised Aluminium plate thickness: The NT (aluminium) variants are 3mm thick vs 2mm for the SS (stainless steel) variants - this is a standard Artefact Series material difference and does not affect function or fixing.
  • Concealed fixings: This plate uses concealed fixing studs. The paired interior 203 plate must use visible fixings - confirm this when ordering the interior plate.
  • Handing: Determined by which side the hinges are on when facing the door from outside. Left hand = hinges on the left.
  • 202 vs 200 Series: The 202 Series has 10mm radius round corners. If square corners are required, refer to the equivalent 200 Series plate.
  • Thick doors: For doors 45-55mm, order long fixing screws SP2000-208 separately.
  • Non-returnable: Confirm finish and handing before ordering - this item cannot be returned once purchased.
