Lockwood 202 Exterior Round Corner Plate - DDA Symbol, Privacy Indicating Emergency Turn & Lever 96 | Right Hand | Satin Stainless Steel
The Lockwood 202 Series Exterior Plate with DDA Symbol, Privacy Indicating Emergency Turn and Lever 96 is a purpose-built accessible amenity door plate, combining three critical elements in a single exterior plate: the internationally recognised disability/accessibility symbol engraving (outlined infill, black gloss), a privacy indicating emergency turn showing occupied/vacant status from the outside, and a DDA-compliant Lever 96 for accessible lever-operated entry.
This plate is specifically designed for the exterior face of accessible bathrooms, ensuites, and amenity facilities in compliant commercial and public buildings. The disability symbol engraving clearly identifies the room as an accessible facility, the privacy indicator advises whether the room is in use, and the emergency turn allows a carer or staff member to open the door from outside in an emergency without damaging the furniture. Lever 96 provides compliant lever-operated access in accordance with AS1428.1-2009.
The 202 Series features the same 162 x 162mm plate profile as the 200 Series but with 10mm radius corners. This plate pairs back-to-back with the 203 Series interior plate (round corner) and is compatible with Lockwood Selector 3770 and Synergy 3570 Series Mortice Locks. Supplied in Satin Stainless Steel, Right Hand.

Disability Act Compliance (DDA)

Helpful Tips
- Exterior plate - pairs with 203 Series: This is the outside face plate. It must be paired with a 203 Series interior plate (round corner) - not a 201 Series (square corner). The interior plate for an accessible amenity door should include a disabled turn snib and lever - confirm the correct 203 Series variant when ordering.
- How the privacy indicator works: When the inside occupant engages the turn snib, the indicator on this exterior plate changes to show the room is occupied. When the snib is released it returns to vacant - no key is required to read the status.
- Emergency release: The exterior plate allows a carer or staff member to open the door from outside in an emergency using a coin, flat tool or dedicated release key, without damaging the furniture.
- Engraving infill - outlined vs solid: This plate uses outlined infill engraving (code E) - the disability symbol has an outlined border rather than a fully solid fill. For full solid infill, specify engraving code V instead.
- Right Hand only: This SKU is right hand only. If left hand is required, contact us to confirm availability.
- Handing: Right hand = hinges on the right when facing the door from outside.
- Concealed fixings: This plate uses concealed fixing studs. The paired interior 203 plate must use visible fixings - confirm this when ordering the interior plate.
- Confirm full building compliance separately: Hardware compliance with AS1428.1-2009 relates to lever and handle design only. Full accessible building compliance requires assessment by a building certifier or access consultant.
- Thick doors: For doors 45-55mm, order long fixing screws SP2000-208 separately.
- Non-returnable: This item cannot be returned once ordered - confirm handing and suitability before purchasing.
