Borg Mechanical Digital Lock Tumbler S514 Non-Coded - Suits 5000 Series (Non-ECP)

The Borg S514 is a non-coded tumbler for non-ECP Borg 5000 Series mechanical digital keypads. In a Borg mechanical digital lock the tumblers are what set the code: coded tumblers sit in the positions that make up the code, and non-coded tumblers fill the remaining positions. The S514 is one of the non-coded fillers, identified by its blue and silver colour.

It is a non-coded tumbler, it is non-ECP 5000 Series only, and it is special order, non-returnable.

Compatible Locks

The S514 suits non-ECP Borg 5000 Series locks such as the BL5001, BL5051 and BL5201MG. The coded companion is the S515. The 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series use the S214 (non-coded) and S213 (coded) instead.

How the tumblers set the code is explained in our bench code-change guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it suit ECP Borg 5000 Series keypads?
No. This tumbler is for non-ECP 5000 Series keypads only. ECP locks change code on the door and do not use these tumblers the same way.
What is the difference between coded and non-coded tumblers?
The coded tumblers sit in the positions that form the code; the non-coded tumblers fill the positions that are not part of the code. Both are needed for the mechanism to work.
Can it go in a 2000, 3000 or 4000 Series lock?
No - those use the S213 or S214 depending on coded or non-coded.

Additional Information

Confirm ECP vs non-ECP first. Whether a 5000 Series keypad is ECP or non-ECP decides which parts it takes - see changing codes on mechanical digital locks. Get this wrong and the keypad will not operate.
A bench job. Tumblers are changed with the lock off the door. Locksmiths replace them during refurbishment or when re-setting a code.
