Borg Mech-Digital BL50013572K Adaptor Kit - Lockwood 3572 Mortice Lock - Suits 5000 Series Keypads
The Borg BL50013572K adaptor kit converts a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock to take a Borg 5000 Series mechanical digital keypad. The Lockwood lock stays in the door and the keypad works it, so you add code entry without replacing the mortice lock. It is a single-keypad, stainless steel kit from our Scar & Adaptor Plates range.
You choose the keypad separately. Borg sells the BL5000KSC / BL5000KSS lever keypad alongside this kit, and the kit takes any of the Borg 5000 Series keypad-only units in What This Kit Converts and the Keypads It Takes - you can browse them in Keypads for Smartlocks. New to battery-free keypad locks? Start with what a mechanical digital lock is in Chapter 16 of our Buyer's Guide.
Usually ships same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excludes weekends and Queensland public holidays).

- Spare spindles are sold separately: the standard BLMORTSPDL and the extended BLMORTSPDL120 for thicker doors.
Suitable Uses
- Doors already fitted with a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock that you want to keep - identify the lock first with existing door hardware (mortice lever and escutcheon or mortice with longplate furniture).
- Retrofit jobs that add a keypad to sound existing hardware instead of replacing the lock - see the retrofit ecosystem and our Scar & Adaptor Plates category.
- Commercial doors running a Lockwood 3572 where a battery-free code keypad is wanted - see commercial and heavy duty in Chapter 16, and the Lockwood DX mortice route if Lockwood's own keypad lock is also on the table.
- Sites that already use Borg 5000 Series locks from our Digital Mechanical Locks range, where a Lockwood 3572 door can take a keypad from the same series (Keypads for Smartlocks).

What This Kit Converts and the Keypads It Takes
This kit converts the Lockwood 3572 mortice lock to take one Borg 5000 Series keypad, chosen from the keypad-only units below; the complete Borg 5000 Series locks listed after them use the same keypad family. If you choose the Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad, ask us to confirm it with this kit before you order. If you would rather replace the lock than convert it, Lockwood's own 3572DX is the alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Borg 5000 Series keypad-only unit. Borg sells the BL5000KSC / BL5000KSS lever keypad alongside this kit, and the kit also takes the BL5000KMG, BL5401KSSDDA and BL5401KSSDDAECP keypads listed in What This Kit Converts and the Keypads It Takes. You can compare them in Keypads for Smartlocks.
No - match the kit to the keypad series. This kit is for Borg 5000 Series keypads; the Lockwood 3572 kit for Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads is BL3572KIT. You can see the keypad series for every Borg adaptor kit and scar plate in the item code family.
A Lockwood 3582 kit - this one is for the Lockwood 3572. For a Borg 5000 Series keypad on a Lockwood 3582 the kit is BL50013582K, which Borg sells for outward-opening doors only; for Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads it is BL3582KIT. Not sure which lock you have? Start with existing door hardware in Chapter 02, or ask us for a recommendation.
Yes, with the back-to-back (BTB) kit instead: BL50013572KBTB puts a Borg 5000 Series keypad on each side of a Lockwood 3572 door, while this kit is the single-keypad version. A keypad on the inside means a code to get out as well as in, so read what a double-sided lock is and why they are not for required exit paths before choosing it.
Thicker doors take the extended BLMORTSPDL120 spindle in place of the standard BLMORTSPDL. Measure the door as shown in door thickness (Buyer's Guide Chapter 02) and ask us to confirm the spindle before you order.
Additional Information
- A retrofit, not a replacement: Keeping a sound Lockwood 3572 and adding a Borg keypad is the kind of job described in the retrofit ecosystem, and the spare spindles for this kit are sold separately (why spare parts and support matter).
- Choose the keypad for how often codes change: The code change method belongs to the keypad, not the kit. The BL5401KSSDDAECP Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad changes code on the door (Borg ECP on-door change, what ECP means); the other 5000 Series keypads listed change code On The Bench (Borg standard chambers). If you expect to re-code even yearly, choose the ECP keypad.
- Identify and measure before ordering: Confirm the lock body is a Lockwood 3572 and measure the door thickness first (existing door hardware, door thickness). Thicker doors take the extended BLMORTSPDL120 spindle - check its special order terms first.
- Professional fitting: If you are not confident working on a mortice lock, have the conversion fitted professionally - see when DIY is appropriate and the wrong spindle position mistake, or use our advice and installation service and professional supply and installation.
- The complete-lock alternative: If the Lockwood 3572 is due for replacement anyway, Lockwood's 3572DX Digital DX keypad mortice lock does the job as one complete lock (the Lockwood DX mortice route), and you can compare the brands in Lockwood vs Borg vs Carbine.
Warranty
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled - doing so will invalidate the warranty. Proof of purchase required for all claims.

Borg BL50013572K Lockwood 3572 Kit - FAQ, Fitting and Buying Guide
Buying and fitting questions for this Borg 5000 Series adaptor kit on a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock. For the wider picture, see Chapter 16 - Mechanical Digital Locks and Chapter 13 - Smart Lock FAQ in our Buyer's Guide.
Understanding the Conversion
It lets a Borg 5000 Series mechanical digital keypad work your existing Lockwood 3572 mortice lock, so the lock stays and you gain code entry. The keypad is a separate order from the 5000 Series keypad-only units, such as the BL5000KSC / BL5000KSS. Keeping sound hardware and adding a keypad is the retrofit approach, and for the keypad itself, see how a mechanical digital lock works.
No. Borg 5000 Series keypads are mechanical digital: the code is held in a mechanical coding chamber, so there is no battery to replace. If you are weighing one against an electronic smart lock, see mechanical vs smart and mechanical digital lock vs smart lock.
Convert it if the 3572 is in good order and you want a Borg 5000 Series keypad; choose a complete lock if the 3572 is due for replacement anyway. Lockwood's 3572DX pairs its own Digital DX keypad with a 3572 mortice lock (the Lockwood DX mortice route). For a brand comparison, see Lockwood vs Borg vs Carbine; for scenario-by-scenario advice, see which should you choose in Chapter 16.
Keypads and Code Changing
By handle style, finish and code change method. The BL5000KSC / BL5000KSS is a lever keypad in satin chrome or satin stainless steel; the BL5000KMG is the external grade, chrome plated lever keypad; the BL5401KSSDDA and BL5401KSSDDAECP are flat bar lever keypads in satin stainless, the second with Easicode Pro (ECP). For the Borg Marine Grade Pro (MG Pro) and ECP suffixes, see MG Pro and ECP explained and decoding Borg names.
The BL5401KSSDDAECP. It is the Easicode Pro (ECP) keypad in the list, and ECP keypads change code on the door - ask us to confirm it with this kit before you order. See Borg Easicode Pro: the on-door change, the 3000 and 5000 series in action and what ECP means.
On The Bench. The BL5000KSC / BL5000KSS, BL5000KMG and BL5401KSSDDA are non-ECP keypads, so a code change is a workbench job rather than a quick change at the door - see Borg standard chambers, the bench method and changing the code in Chapter 16. If you expect to re-code even yearly, choose the ECP keypad.
The Borg key override conversion for the Lockwood 3572 is the 09351550 (BL3572KOR) adaptor plate, which is sold for Borg 2000 and 4000 Series keypads, while this kit takes 5000 Series keypads. Lockwood's 3572DXKO is its Digital DX mechanical keypad lockset with key override. For when key override matters, see key override can be important, and ask us which route suits your door.
Fitting, Measuring and Dimensions
Identify the mortice lock body before ordering, because this kit is for the Lockwood 3572 specifically. Use existing door hardware and bored cylindrical vs mortice door prep in Chapter 02 to recognise a mortice lock, and compare it with our Lockwood 3572 mortice lock listing. If you are still unsure, ask for a qualified locksmith recommendation.
You can if you are confident working on a mortice lock; if not, have it fitted professionally. Before deciding, read when DIY is appropriate - and when it isn't and wrong spindle position in Chapter 12. For fitting, see our advice and installation page and professional supply and installation, or book a free site survey if you are not sure what the door needs.
You will find dimensioned drawings of the 5000, 5400 and 5100 Series keypads in the Borg BL5000 Series Brochure (PDF), and this kit's plate dimensions on page 43 of the BDS security products catalogue (PDF). For the door itself, measure as shown in door thickness in Chapter 02.
