Frequently Asked Questions
- How is “left hand” handing determined for this internal plate?
The supplied information states internal handed lever and turnsnib designs are handed as per the external plate. Handing is typically confirmed from the outside (pull) side of the opening as per the door schedule. - Is this suitable for accessibility compliant doors?
The supplied information states the lever is AS1428.1 (2009) compliant. Suitability still depends on door location, latch/lock selection, and overall compliance of the complete door set. - Can this be used on fire doors?
The supplied information states testing up to 4 hours depending on the doorset. Fire door use should be confirmed against the specific doorset approval and the hardware schedule for that project.
Additional Information
- Handed internal plates are commonly paired with matching handed external plates on the opposite side. Confirm handing early because turning the plate around can affect turn and lever orientation.
- Visible fixing is typical for many internal plate sets as it allows secure installation and easier service access, especially in high traffic commercial sites.
- For fire and smoke door assemblies, plate furniture is normally selected as part of a complete approved hardware set. Even when a component is fire tested, project sign-off often requires confirmation against the specific doorset evidence.
