Lockwood Vivid Privacy Cavity Door Slider
The Lockwood Vivid Privacy Cavity Door Slider is a sliding door privacy lock for internal cavity sliding doors in residential applications. It provides privacy locking from inside the room while also functioning as a door pull to draw the door out from the cavity.
The bolt mechanism is pressed to release the door pull function, allowing the door to be drawn away from the wall cavity. The fitting sits fully flush against the sliding door panel for complete recess. All visible surfaces are 304 stainless steel with a Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) surface treatment, in finishes coordinated across the Lockwood Vivid Collection.
Available Finish Options
Satin Brass PVD
Satin Gun Metal PVD
Satin Bronze PVD
Finish selection does not affect functionality or performance. PVD surface treatment is applied over 304 stainless steel. Finish appearance may vary under different lighting conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the privacy function work?
The bolt on the inside of the fitting is engaged to lock the door in the closed position, preventing it from being opened from outside. The same bolt retracts to function as a door pull for drawing the door out from the cavity. - Is there an emergency release?
Yes. The fitting incorporates an emergency release function that allows the door to be opened from outside. Refer to the installation instructions for the release procedure. - Does this provide security locking?
No. The privacy cavity slider is a privacy fitting suitable for bathroom and bedroom applications. It is not a security lock and must not be relied upon as a primary security device. - Is this compatible with standard cavity door frames?
The slider is designed for standard residential cavity sliding door applications. Confirm compatibility with your door thickness and preparation with a qualified installer before ordering. - Can this be fitted to a hinged door?
No. This product is designed for sliding cavity doors only.
Additional Information
- Installation Accuracy: Correct routing and placement in the door panel is required for a flush fit and smooth bolt operation. An uneven installation may affect both the privacy bolt and the door pull function.
- Privacy vs. Security: This product provides occupancy privacy, not security locking. It is appropriate for bathrooms and bedrooms where the primary requirement is preventing unintended entry.
- Dual Function Design: The retractable bolt acting as a door pull simplifies installation and reduces the total hardware count on a cavity sliding door - combining privacy lock and door pull into a single fitting.
- Coordination: Select the PVD finish that matches other Vivid hardware installed in the space. Consistent finish selection across leversets, hinges, door stops, and sliding door hardware delivers a professional result.
