Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the 1226/I sold as a single escutcheon or a pair?
The 1226/I is a single escutcheon, sold individually and ordered per face as required. If escutcheons are needed on both faces of the door, two units should be ordered. - What is the difference between the 1226/I and the through-fix 1226/6 kit?
The 1226/I is a surface-mounted single escutcheon fixed with wood screws, suiting Synergy 3570 Series Mortice Locks. The 1226/6 is a through-fix kit (pair) fixed with stainless steel through-bolts, optimised for Selector 3770 Series Mortice Locks. - What does the 1226/I replace?
The 1226/I replaces the previous 1226 oval cylinder escutcheon. The 'I' suffix denotes the current surface-mounted individual escutcheon. - Is the 1226/I compatible with the 6260 Privacy Bolt?
No. The oval cylinder escutcheon is not compatible with the 6260 Privacy Bolt. - Can the 1226/I be used on doors thicker than 45mm?
Extended tail bars may be required for thicker doors. Confirm door thickness before ordering.
Additional Information
- Surface Fix vs Through Fix:
The 1226/I fixes to one face of the door independently with wood screws. Through-fix kits use stainless through-bolts to clamp escutcheons to both faces simultaneously. Surface fix suits Synergy 3570 Series locks; through fix suits Selector 3770 Series locks. - Ordering Per Face:
As a single escutcheon, the 1226/I must be ordered for each face where a cylinder escutcheon is required. For a full door set with a cylinder escutcheon on both faces, two units are required. - Replaces 1226:
The 1226/I is the current replacement for the previous 1226 oval cylinder escutcheon.
