Lockton StrikePakā„¢ Main Strike Plate Kit (4mm Thick) - Silver

The Lockton STPK-MP4-SIL StrikePakā„¢ Main Strike Plate Kit in Silver is the core component of the StrikePak system - a modular, stackable packer arrangement that bridges oversized gaps between the door and frame so the latch engages the strike reliably.

The kit combines a 4mm anodised aluminium main packer plate with a matching satin stainless steel strike plate (STML60-STD) and a full screw pack covering both timber and metal frame installations. It is designed specifically for Australian mortice locks, including narrow-stile and 60mm body formats, and suits 23, 30, 60 and 95mm backset lock bodies.

Where the door-to-frame gap exceeds 4mm, StrikePakā„¢ Extra Packers in 2mm, 4mm and 8mm thicknesses stack behind the main plate for precise on-site adjustment - see the item code family table below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which mortice locks does the StrikePakā„¢ suit?
It is designed for Australian mortice locks with 23, 30, 60 and 95mm backsets, including narrow-stile and 60mm body formats. Check that your lock's strike footprint matches the 90.8 x 32.4mm plate before ordering.
What if the gap is larger than 4mm?
Stack StrikePakā„¢ Extra Packers behind the main plate - 2mm (PE2), 4mm (PE4) and 8mm (PE8) plates combine to match the measured gap.
Are screws included for metal door frames?
Yes. The screw pack includes both timber screws and self-tapping metal thread screws, each in 30mm and 40mm lengths.
How do I know which packer thickness I need?
Close the door and measure the distance between the latch face and the strike on the frame. Choose the main kit plus extra packers that together come closest to that measurement without exceeding it.
Can StrikePakā„¢ parts be used on fire doors?
Lockton does not publish a fire rating for the StrikePakā„¢ range. On a fire-rated doorset, any change to the strike arrangement should be confirmed with your certifier before installation.

Additional Information

Measure before you order: with the door closed, the gap between the latch face and the existing strike tells you the total packing thickness required. A latch that only just catches the strike is a common source of callbacks - doors flex in service, so aim for full, positive engagement rather than a marginal fit.

Packers stack behind the main plate against the frame, with the strike plate outermost. After stacking, check that the screws still achieve solid purchase in the frame - the 40mm screws in the main kit are intended for deeper stacked assemblies. The anodised aluminium plates will not rust, which makes the system suitable for coastal Gold Coast conditions where plated steel packers commonly corrode.
