BORG Mech-Digital Spindle Extended For Mortice Lock suits 2000 and 5000 Series - 120mm length
Listed in our BDS range, this extended 120mm spindle suits Borg 2000 and 5000 series mechanical digital keypads fitted to a mortice lock through an adaptor kit, such as the BL3582KIT for the 2000 series or the BL50013572K for the 5000 series. It is the extended version of the standard 80mm BLMORTSPDL, for doors thicker than that spindle suits, up to 90mm thick.
Borg mortice lock adaptor kits convert an existing Lockwood 3572 or 3582 mortice lock to keypad entry, one of the retrofit options that keep sound hardware on the door. On a door too thick for the standard spindle, this 120mm length gives the extra reach the keypad needs to operate the lock.
This extended spindle is a special order item and cannot be returned, so confirm the length your door and adaptor kit need before ordering. If you are unsure, ask our locksmiths to confirm the right spindle first, and see our shipping and returns policy.
Key Features
- Extended length for thicker doors: the longer of the two mortice lock spindles in the spindle range below, made for doors beyond the range of the standard BLMORTSPDL (see measuring door thickness).
- Made for Borg 2000 and 5000 series keypads fitted through an adaptor kit to a door with mortice lock door prep, so the keypad operates the existing mortice lock.
- Full engagement on a thick door: on an adaptor kit install, the extra length lets the spindle reach fully into the mortice lock hub, avoiding the poor operation and premature wear a spindle that is too short can cause.
- Sold as a single replacement part, so a missing, damaged or wrongly sized spindle in an existing adaptor kit install can be replaced on its own, backed by the spare parts support behind our mechanical digital lock range.

Suitable Uses
- Thick doors on a Borg 2000 or 5000 series mortice lock adaptor kit install, where the standard BLMORTSPDL would fall short (how to measure door thickness).
- Replacing a missing or damaged extended spindle on a Borg keypad that operates a Lockwood 3572 or 3582 mortice lock.
- Retrofit work where the spindle already in an adaptor kit install is the wrong length for the door, part of the keypad retrofit approach that keeps the existing lock in service.

Additional Information
- Measure before ordering: measure the spindle already in the door and confirm the door thickness first, so a special order length does not create clearance problems. If the door suits the standard length after all, the BLMORTSPDL is the part to order.
- Check clearances at assembly: a spindle longer than the door needs can bind, so before final assembly confirm it engages the mortice lock hub fully and nothing binds against the furniture or adaptor plates.
- Not sure what is on the door? Our locksmith recommendation service can help identify the adaptor kit and spindle, and the mortice lever hardware guide shows how mortice hardware is measured. If you would rather not work on the lock yourself, see when DIY is appropriate or our advice and installation service.
- Spares support: a replacement spindle lets an existing Borg adaptor kit install be repaired rather than replaced. See why spare parts and support matter, how Borg sits among the three mechanical digital lock ranges, and more parts in Other Smart Lock Accessories.
