Lockwood 334 Series High Security Brass Case Padlocks

The Lockwood 334 Series High Security Brass Case Padlocks are designed for commercial and industrial applications where strong physical security and corrosion resistance are required. The 334B Series uses a heavy duty solid brass case extrusion and an 8.7mm rapid change shackle system.

The rapid change shackle design allows the shackle to be released by turning the key and depressing the shackle release pin, making the range useful where different shackle heights may be required across a site or where serviceability is important.

The 334B Series is supplied as a latching padlock as standard and can be converted to deadlocking key retained function by relocating the cam plate pin in the cylinder assembly. This should be done by a suitable locksmith or authorised door hardware professional where key retained operation is required.

Fire rating icon Fire Rated

  • No fire rating has been confirmed for the Lockwood 334 Series brass case padlocks.
  • A padlock should not be treated as a fire rated door hardware product unless the complete door assembly and hardware schedule specifically approve that use.
  • For fire rated doors or exit routes, confirm padlock use with the fire door schedule and local compliance requirements before installation.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 334B Series suitable for commercial and industrial use?
Yes. Lockwood product information identifies the 334B Series brass case padlocks as suitable for commercial and industrial applications.

What is the rapid change shackle function?
The rapid change function allows the shackle to be released by turning the key and depressing the release pin, which supports servicing and shackle changes where the correct parts are used.

Are all 334B Series padlocks SCEC endorsed?
No. Lockwood specifically identifies the 334B45/119 model as SCEC endorsed for Intruder Resistant Areas, subject to key retained configuration and use of a SCEC approved cylinder rated for the installation area.

Additional information icon Additional Information

  • The 334B Series is a practical choice where a site needs stronger padlock security than light duty brass padlocks can provide.
  • A common specification mistake is choosing an extended shackle for convenience without considering the extra attack exposure created by a taller shackle.
  • For high security sites, choose the shortest shackle height that will correctly fit the hasp, chain or staple.
  • Where SCEC endorsement is required, confirm the exact model, key retained configuration and approved cylinder before installation.
  • For managed facilities, order the padlock with the correct keying format such as keyed alike, keyed to differ or master keyed, rather than retrofitting keying later where avoidable.
