Lockwood 3772TSS Selector 3772 MkII Universal Primary Mortice Lock - 60 mm Backset with Locking Adaptor - Satin Stainless Steel

The Lockwood 3772TSS is the Selector 3772 MkII Universal Primary mortice lock, supplied with a locking adaptor and finished in Satin Stainless Steel. It is a heavy-duty mortice lock body built for commercial and institutional doors, providing single-action egress (the inside lever always operates for safe exit) with a lockable outside lever configured through the supplied adaptor.

The Selector 3700 platform is a "universal" mortice lock: a single lock case is configured to a wide range of functions - escape, key entry, anti-vandal, holdback and dual-entry - using interchangeable cams and adaptors. The 3772TSS ships in the timber-door fixing format with a 60 mm backset. Extended 89 mm and 127 mm backset versions are catalogued as the 4772 and 5772.

This listing is for the lock body only. A Lockwood 570-series oval cylinder and cam are not included and are ordered separately to suit your keying system. The lock is rated to AS 4145.2 for lockset durability and has been fire tested to AS 1905.1 on compliant fire door assemblies.

Fire Tested - AS 1905.1 (up to 4 hours)
The Selector 3772 mortice lock has been successfully fire tested for up to 4 hours on compliant fire door assemblies to AS 1905.1. Holdback function configurations (3772V-H, 3772XVH, 3772VTH) are not fire door rated. Fire performance depends on the complete doorset - confirm that hinges, strikes, seals and the door core are all compatible and certified. For a plain-English explanation of Australian fire door and lockset standards, see Chapter 11 - Australian Standards (AS 1905.1), and our guide to fire door types and certification.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

What backset does the 3772TSS use, and are other backsets available?
The 3772TSS has a 60 mm backset. The same lock in an 89 mm or 127 mm backset is catalogued as the 4772 and 5772 respectively. If you are unsure how to measure the backset on your door, see our guide to measuring your lock backset and Chapter 02 - Measuring Your Door.
What does the "T" locking adaptor do?
The "T" in 3772TSS denotes that the lock is supplied with a locking adaptor. The adaptor configures how the outside lever is locked and unlocked - by key or turn - while the inside lever always remains free for egress. Replacement or additional adaptors are available as the 3772-ADAPTOR and the 3770M2-ADAPTOR (MkII, not backwards compatible with MkI).
Is the 3772TSS suitable for fire doors?
Yes. The Selector 3772 has been fire tested to AS 1905.1 for up to 4 hours on compliant fire door assemblies. Note that holdback configurations (3772V-H, 3772XVH, 3772VTH) are not fire door rated. Fire performance depends on the whole doorset, so confirm all hardware is compatible. For context, see fire door types and certification and, before drilling any older door, our note on asbestos risk in apartment fire doors.
Does this lock include a cylinder?
No. The 3772TSS is a lock body only. It accepts a Lockwood 570-series oval cylinder, which is ordered separately along with the appropriate cam - an X7 cam for latching or a V cam. Confirm your keying and restricted-system requirements with Terry's before ordering the cylinder.
Can the 3772 be converted to a digital keypad lock?
Yes. A DX Digital Conversion Kit (3772-DXKITSC) adds a mechanical-digital codepad to the existing mortice lock, and the DX with Key Override kit (3772-DXKOKITSC) adds a lower cylinder for key override. For a fully credentialled digital lockset built on the same 3772 body, step up to the Lockwood Cortex CTX3772 digital lockset.

Additional information icon Additional Information

Fire Door Installations
The Selector 3772 is fire tested to AS 1905.1, but a fire-rated lock is only one part of a compliant doorset - confirm hinges, strikes, seals and the door core are all rated and compatible, and remember that holdback configurations are excluded from the fire rating. For a reference list of test certificates see Fire-Rated Certification - Test Reports, and for compliance rules on apartment fire doors see what locks are actually compliant. Fire door and commercial work is a candidate for Terry's professional install - see Site Survey & Installation Services.
Universal Platform - Cams and Adaptors
The 3772 is a "universal" lock case: its function is set by the cam and adaptor fitted at installation. The X7 cam retracts the latchbolt and operates the locking bar; the V cam operates the locking bar and retracts the latch after unlocking. MkII adaptors such as the 3770M2-ADAPTOR are not backwards compatible with MkI cases.
Retrofits and Faceplate Options
When upgrading from an older mortice cut-out - for example an earlier Synergy 3572 - a Securafix retrofit faceplate can cover a wider mortice. For aluminium doors use the 3772-AFKIT, and for radiused door edges specify the 3772RSS full radius end version.
Primary Lock and the One-Penetration Principle
The 3772 is a primary mortice lock. On fire-rated apartment and strata doors, only one penetration of the door leaf is typically permitted, so the primary lock and any secondary lock must be planned together. See our explainer on the one-penetration principle and primary locks.
Electric Strike and Access Control
The 3772 pairs with the Lockwood ES2100 monitored electric strike using the matching ES2100 faceplate kit - 3772-2100SS for timber doors or 3772AF-2100SS for aluminium - to bring the opening into an access-control or monitored system.
