Lockwood 35792SC 35792 Secure Area Universal Primary Lock 60mm Backset Satin Chrome

The Lockwood 35792SC 35792 Secure Area Universal Primary Lock 60mm Backset Satin Chrome is a high security mortice lock designed for government, institutional and commercial projects where a secure area rated locking solution is required.

The 3579 Series Mortice Lock has been successfully SCEC endorsed for secure area applications when installed with the required compliant cylinder and full plate furniture. This makes the 35792SC suitable for controlled environments where ordinary commercial mortice locks may not meet the required security specification.

This product is the secure area universal primary lock body in Satin Chrome with a 60mm backset. To maintain the secure area rating, the lock must be used with a SCEC endorsed 570 oval cylinder that is also secure area rated, together with compliant full plate furniture such as Lockwood 1800 Series, 2800 Series or Artefact Series II plate furniture.

Fire rating icon Fire Rated

  • The Lockwood 3579 Series Cylinder Mortice Lock has been successfully fire tested up to 4 hours on fire door assemblies.
  • Testing is in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1905.1 - 2005, Part 1: Fire Resistant Doorsets.
  • Fire rating applies only when the complete door assembly, lock, cylinder, furniture, strike, fixings and installation meet the approved fire door requirements.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 35792SC secure area compliant by itself?
No. Secure area compliance requires the correct SCEC endorsed 570 oval cylinder and approved full plate furniture, along with correct installation.

Does this lock include the cylinder and furniture?
No. The available product data confirms requirements for approved cylinder and full plate furniture, but those items are not confirmed as included with this lock body.

Is this suitable for fire doors?
The 3579 Series has been fire tested up to 4 hours on compliant fire door assemblies, but the complete door assembly and hardware schedule must be approved for the specific installation.

Additional information icon Additional Information

  • The 35792SC should be specified as part of a complete secure area door hardware set, not as a standalone lock body.
  • A common compliance mistake is fitting the secure area lock body with a non-SCEC cylinder or non-compliant furniture, which can compromise the required rating.
  • For secure area projects, confirm the current SCEC approval status of the lock, cylinder and furniture before ordering.
  • Where fire rating matters, confirm the lock, cylinder, furniture and installation with the approved fire door schedule.
  • For high security sites, coordinate the lock function, cylinder keying, plate furniture and door handing before site installation to avoid costly rework.
