Jack Fuse FAST-R4J Quick Connect 4 Core Joiner for RS485, OSDP and Card Reader Cabling - Pack of 10 - Black

The Jack Fuse FAST-R4J is a four core quick connect cable joiner designed to join card reader and access control cable runs end-to-end. Spring clamp terminals allow stripped conductors to be inserted directly without soldering, crimping or screw terminals, saving installation time and reducing the risk of wiring faults.

Sold in a pack of 10, the FAST-R4J is suited to Wiegand, RS485 and OSDP protocols and can be pre-fitted to reader tails before site installation to reduce on-site labour time.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between a joiner and a splitter?
A joiner connects two cable runs end-to-end, continuing the same cable path. A splitter branches a cable run so that one incoming cable feeds multiple outgoing connections or devices. Use the FASTR4J where you need to join cable lengths; use the FASTR4S where you need to branch a cable run to a separate reader or device.
  • Do I need any tools to install this connector?
No. Strip the conductor insulation to the correct length, then push the bare wire directly into the appropriate colour coded terminal. The spring clamp mechanism holds the wire securely without tools.
  • Is this connector suitable for stranded cable?
Yes. The FAST spring clamp system accepts both solid and stranded conductors.
  • Can this connector be pre-fitted before site installation?
Yes. The FAST Connector System is specifically designed to be pre-fitted to reader tails and other security peripherals off-site, reducing on-site labour time.
  • What protocols is the FASTR4J suitable for?
The FASTR4J is suited to Wiegand, RS485 and OSDP reader protocols, as well as general lock and power cable connections in access control systems.

Additional information icon Additional Information

  • The FAST Connector System is designed to reduce installation faults associated with traditional solder, crimp and screw terminal methods by providing a consistent, tool-free termination method.
  • The colour coded terminals assist with correct cable pairing, reducing wiring errors during installation.
  • Compact housing dimensions (20.5 x 12 x 8 mm) allow concealed installation inside door frames, cable ducts and wall cavities.
  • Pre-fitting FAST connectors to reader tails at a staging area before attending site is a common trade practice that reduces on-site labour hours.
