Installation and Styling Tips

  • Ensure a precise installation of the Zanda Heavy Duty Mortice Edge Pull by using a chisel to create a clean mortice in the door. The mortice should be 86mm x 86mm to fit the case size perfectly, ensuring a seamless look and optimal functionality.
  • For exterior doors with windows, consider using a complementary stainless steel finish for the edge pull to match or contrast effectively with other hardware elements, such as door handles or lock cylinders, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of your entryway.
  • When positioning the edge pull, install it at a height of approximately 1 meter from the floor for easy access, especially if it’s being used on large sliding doors. This height is ergonomically beneficial and enhances functionality.
  • Incorporate a sleek, modern lever handle alongside the edge pull for added convenience; this can be particularly effective if you have guests who may not be familiar with the push button activation feature.
  • To address potential security concerns, ensure that the mortice lock is properly aligned with the strike plate for a tighter fit, which helps prevent any forced entry. Regular maintenance checks will help ensure that the locking mechanism operates smoothly over time.

Care Tips

  • For stainless steel fixtures, such as the Zanda Heavy Duty Mortice Edge Pull, regularly clean with a mixture of warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap. Use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe down the surface, following the grain of the steel to prevent scratches. Rinse with clean water and dry immediately with a microfiber cloth to prevent spots and maintain a shiny finish.
  • To keep the mortice lock functioning smoothly, apply a graphite powder lubricant to the keyhole and key every six months. This will prevent dirt and grime buildup and ensure that the lock operates without jamming, extending its lifespan and reliability.
  • For the sliding door edge pull, clean around the button and surrounding areas using a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. Be cautious not to let excess moisture seep into the mechanism. For any sticky residue, a small amount of vinegar on a cloth can be used to gently clean, followed by drying the area thoroughly to prevent moisture damage.

Finish care and maintenance
Proper maintenance, care, cleaning and polishing in accordance with Zanda's instructions are essential to retain a product's finish - particularly soft finishes or finishes that naturally age, such as Brushed Nickel, Satin Chrome, Polished Brass, Graphite Nickel, Matt Chrome, Unlacquered Brass, Matt Brass, Rumbled Brass, Roman Brass, Natural Bronze, Oil Rubbed, Satin Brass, Brushed Bronze, Antique Bronze, Buffed Bronze, Matt Antique Bronze, Venetian Bronze and Powdercoat. These finishes are subject to deterioration, corrosion and oxidation from conditions such as salt deposits, scratches from sharp objects, paint thinners and caustic agents. For care of stainless steel products, see the ASSDA guidance on preventing coastal corrosion and tea staining.
