Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this suitable for external doors?
This is an internal plate. For external doors, use a matching external plate intended for outside exposure and security requirements. - Is the turnsnib AS1428.1 compliant?
No. The lever profile is AS1428.1 compliant, but the turnsnib is not listed as AS1428.1 compliant for this configuration. - What should I check before ordering?
Confirm the mortice lock model and fixing centres match your existing door preparation, and ensure you are pairing it with the correct external plate.
Additional Information
- This style is commonly specified where a narrow plate is needed on aluminium framed doors, but the internal side requires a turnsnib for privacy control.
- Visible fixing is often chosen on the internal side for easier servicing and faster replacement in high traffic sites.
- For compliant access doors, confirm the full door hardware set meets the project requirements, as compliance depends on the complete assembly.
