Frequently Asked Questions
- What door is this panic bolt designed for?
It is intended for the inactive leaf of double doors where a strong surface mounted bolt is required. - What does the 20 mm offset mean?
The bolt is necked so the throw line is offset by 20 mm, helping alignment on certain door and frame geometries. - What is the difference between visible fix and concealed fix?
Visible fix bolts have exposed fasteners, which can make installation and servicing simpler, while concealed fix bolts hide fasteners for a cleaner appearance.
Additional Information
- Visible fix panic bolts are commonly chosen where quick installation and easier maintenance access are priorities.
- On double doors, the inactive leaf is typically secured top and bottom, allowing the active leaf to latch into it.
- Correct floor plate placement is important so the bolt engages cleanly without binding.
