Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this floor spring hold the door open?
No. This BTS80F EN6 model is specified as no hold open. - Can this be used on fire and smoke check doors?
Yes, but an additional approval of suitability is required for the specific fire and smoke check doorset, and installation must follow the applicable approval documentation. - Are extended spindles available?
Extended spindles are referenced for this floor spring, and are typically used when additional height or floor build-up needs to be accommodated. Confirm spindle selection to suit the door and floor build-up before ordering.
Additional Information
- Floor springs rely on accurate box positioning and correct pivot distance. Small layout errors can cause binding or poor latch performance.
- On heavy doors, careful adjustment of closing speed and latching action helps prevent slam while still achieving reliable latch engagement.
- Where finished floor levels vary (tiles, ramps, overlays), spindle selection is commonly checked early to avoid rework after the floor is poured.
