D&D Technologies SlimLine DC622G Vertical Hydraulic Gate Closer – Right Hand – Matte Black
The D&D Technologies SlimLine DC622G is a vertical hydraulic gate closer with 3D Cam-Motion technology. It is designed for installation on single-action pedestrian and security gates weighing up to 150 kg with a maximum width of 1300 mm. The closer mounts vertically behind or alongside the gate frame, providing a low-profile appearance when installed on the pull side of the gate leaf.
The DC622G uses 3D Cam-Motion technology rather than a conventional rack-and-pinion mechanism. This produces a lower required opening force across the full arc of gate travel, making the gate easier to push open for children, elderly users, and people with limited mobility, while ensuring reliable self-closing and positive latching. The closer shuts without slamming.
This listing is for the right-hand model (DC622G-R-1-9004). A left-hand model is also available. The kit includes the closer body, guide rail, hold-open device, damper device, and fasteners. No welding is required. Closing speed and latch speed are independently adjustable via side-facing valves. The unit is manufactured in Italy and is part of the ASSA ABLOY group.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I determine whether I need a left-hand or right-hand model?
Hand is determined by which side the gate is hinged when viewed from the pull side (the side you pull the gate toward you). If the hinges are on the left when standing on the pull side, the gate is left-hand. If they are on the right, it is right-hand. The left-hand model (DC622G-L-1-9004) is available separately. See our guide to understanding door handing in Australia for further detail on determining hand.
Do I need to purchase any accessories for a standard post-mounted installation?
For most post-mounted installations on the pull side, no additional accessories are required – the kit contains the closer body, guide rail, hold-open device, damper device, and fasteners. If you are mounting to fence pickets, you will need the Mounting Plate for Guide Rail (DCAC632-9004). If you are installing the closer body on a push side post or on a pull side wall, you will need the Body Mounting Bracket Kit (DCAC633-9004). See the 14 mounting diagrams in the SlimLine Mounting Options PDF (available in the PDF Files tab) to confirm which accessories apply to your configuration.
Can this closer be retrofitted onto an existing gate without replacing the hinges?
Yes. The DC622G is designed for retrofit. It is compatible with existing face-mounted or centre-mounted hinges and does not require welding. The gate gap resulting from commonly used hinges is accommodated without adjustment.
How are the closing and latch speeds adjusted?
Closing speed and latch speed are controlled by two independent side-facing valves on the closer body. They are adjusted separately, allowing the main closing sweep speed to be set differently from the final latch engagement speed. Adjust with the gate in motion to find the correct setting for the gate weight and hinge resistance.
What is the difference between 3D Cam-Motion and a standard rack-and-pinion gate closer?
A conventional rack-and-pinion closer applies roughly equal resistance throughout the opening arc, which can make the gate difficult to push open, particularly for users with reduced strength. The Cam-Motion mechanism is shaped so that the opening force required is lower across the full arc of travel, while still generating sufficient force to reliably close and latch the gate. The gate closes without slamming at the end of the arc.
Additional Information
The DC622G is a handed product – left-hand and right-hand closers are not interchangeable. Confirm the hand of the gate before ordering. If you are replacing an existing closer, the hand of the replacement must match the existing unit. If you are unsure, our team can assist with hand selection before ordering. See our guide to understanding door handing in Australia.
The 14 available mounting positions are illustrated in the SlimLine Mounting Options document (available in the PDF Files tab). The standard kit suits the most common pull-side post installation. Mounting to fence pickets requires the DCAC632-9004 Mounting Plate for Guide Rail. Installing the closer body on a push side post or pull side wall requires the DCAC633-9004 Body Mounting Bracket Kit. Review the mounting diagrams before ordering accessories to confirm which configuration applies to your gate.
The DC622G supports a maximum opening angle of 130°. The actual opening angle achieved on your gate may be limited by the hinge type in use. Verify that your hinge arrangement allows for the required opening angle before installation. If the gate must open beyond 130°, this closer is not suitable.
The DC622G is rated for gates up to 150 kg and 1300 mm in width. Both conditions must be met – a gate that is within the weight limit but wider than 1300 mm, or within the width limit but heavier than 150 kg, is outside the rated capacity. Confirm both gate weight and gate width before specifying this closer. For heavier or wider gates, contact D&D Technologies or your distributor for alternative closer options.
The DC622G is tested for operation from -30°C to +50°C and includes corrosion-resistant screw coating and cover. It is suitable for outdoor installation in exposed positions. For coastal or salt-air environments, confirm with D&D Technologies that the matte black finish and materials meet your corrosion requirements before installing. If in doubt, contact our team for advice on installation in your specific environment.
