Brava Urban Spare Part Rebate Kit - Deadbolt, Cylindrical & Tiebolt Latches

The Brava Urban Rebate Kit is a replacement spare part designed to suit deadbolt, cylindrical and tiebolt latch configurations within the Brava Urban and Brava Metro door hardware ranges. It is used when fitting compatible locksets to rebated doors - where the door edge is stepped or angled to meet a rebated frame - or when replacing worn or damaged rebate components during a service or retrofit.

This is a genuine Brava spare part. It is supplied separately from the lock and latch, allowing locksmiths and builders to source rebate components independently without replacing an entire lockset assembly. Available in three finishes to match existing Brava door hardware installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a rebate kit and when is one needed?
A rebate kit adapts a standard latch or deadbolt for use on a rebated door - one where the door edge has a stepped profile to meet a rebated frame. Without a rebate kit, the latch faceplate will not seat flush and the door will not close correctly. If your door has a rebated frame (common on double doors and some timber entrance sets), a rebate kit is required at the time of installation.
Is this rebate kit compatible with all Brava products?
This kit is confirmed to suit the Brava Urban and Brava Metro ranges with deadbolt, cylindrical and tiebolt latch configurations. It is not confirmed for use with other Brava series outside these ranges. If you are unsure whether this kit suits your specific Brava lockset, check the product code on your existing hardware or contact us before ordering.
Does the finish affect how the rebate kit functions?
No. All three finishes - Matt Black, Polished Brass and Satin Stainless Steel - are mechanically identical. The finish choice is purely aesthetic and should be selected to match the finish of the lockset already installed on the door.
Can this rebate kit be fitted by a DIYer, or does it require a locksmith?
Installation of a rebate kit involves modifying how the latch seats in the door edge and may require chiselling or adjustment of the door rebate. A competent tradesperson or experienced DIYer can fit this kit, but a licensed locksmith is recommended where the door frame has not previously been prepared for a rebated latch, or where the existing hardware is being serviced under warranty.
What is the difference between a deadbolt, cylindrical and tiebolt latch - and which does my door use?
A deadbolt is a bolt thrown by a key or thumbturn with no spring return - it locks in position. A cylindrical latch is a spring-loaded angled bolt operated by a lever handle, providing latching (hold-closed) function. A tiebolt ties the latch and deadbolt together so both operate in a single action. Your door hardware documentation or the marking on the existing latch faceplate will confirm which type is fitted. If you are unsure, Terry can identify the latch type during a service call.

Additional Information

Confirm your latch type and range before ordering.
Rebate kits are latch-specific. Ordering the wrong type - for example, a cylindrical rebate kit for a deadbolt application - will result in a fitment that does not work correctly. Check the existing latch faceplate marking or the original installation documentation before placing your order. If in doubt, Terry's can assist with identification.
Rebate kits are required for rebated doors - not all doors need one.
A rebate kit is only required where the door edge has a stepped rebate profile. Flush (non-rebated) doors do not need a rebate kit. Fitting a rebate kit to a non-rebated door will result in incorrect latch projection and may prevent the door from latching correctly.
