Helpful Tips
- Brass Plate Series: The 4600/4700/4800/4900 narrow brass plate series features a slimline 26mm width profile, compared to wider plate series such as 1800/2800/4800/5800. The narrow width is ideal for contemporary aesthetics and space-conscious applications where a refined, minimalist appearance is desired.
- Series Selection: 4600/4700 Series are designed for use with Lockwood 3770 Selector and 3570 Synergy Series mortice locks and are fire rated. 4800/4900 Series suit 3780/3580 Series mortice locks. Ensure correct series selection for lock compatibility and fire rating requirements.
- Finish Selection: Standard finish is Satin Chrome Brushed (SC). Non-standard finishes include Chrome Plate (CP), Polished Brass (PB), and Polyester Powdercoat (PC). Special finishes include Aged Brass (AG), Architectural Bronze (AZ), Architectural Bronze Unlaqured (AU), Antique Copper (AC), Oil Rubbed Bronze (ORB), Polished Brass Unlaqured (BU), Satin Brass (SB), and Satin Brass Unlacquered (SBU). Refer to end of catalogue for detailed images of all decorative finishes.
- Fixing Method: Plates are designed to fit back to back through the door. If outside plate is specified with concealed fixing, then the inside plate must be visible fixed. This ensures structural integrity while providing aesthetic options for either concealed or visible fixing on exterior.
- Door Thickness: External plates are supplied with fixing screws to suit door thickness between 32 and 50mm. For thicker doors, please refer to the brass furniture thicker doors page at the end of this catalogue section for extended screw options and packing plate solutions.
- Lever Reversibility and Handing: Plates are not handed. Levers may be reversed by removing the stop screw, except for handed levers and functions as shown in the ordering procedure at the end of this section. Check function diagrams carefully when ordering handed configurations.
- Short Backset Compatibility: Some functions in this series are designed to work with Lockwood 3540 Series short backset mortice deadbolts. Important note: Certain lever designs are not compatible on short backset assemblies due to interference with the door stop. Refer to the backset suitability page at the end of this section before ordering.
- Turn Function Features: Turn functions feature a unique adjustable tailbar mechanism that automatically adjusts the length of the tail bar to suit a particular door thickness. This ensures proper operation across the supported door thickness range without manual adjustment.
- Fire Rating Requirements: Fire rating of up to 4 hours applies when installed with fire-rated Lockwood mortice lock on fire door assemblies in accordance with AS1905.1:2005. Fire performance is dependent on doorset type and configuration. Compliance is system-based and limited by the FRL (Fire Resistance Level) of the complete doorset assembly.
- Non-Returnable Item: This is a made-to-order item with multiple finish options. Please verify all specifications, finishes, functions, lever selections, and lock compatibility before placing your order. Once manufactured, items cannot be returned or exchanged.
