Fire Door Approval Context
Lockwood 002 deadlatches appear on some fire door manufacturers’ approved hardware schedules, including public E-Core documentation and a Firecore hardware list. That gives the 002 range genuine fire door relevance when it is matched to an approved doorset.
The key point is that approval is doorset-specific. Fire door suitability must be confirmed against the exact fire door manufacturer’s current hardware schedule, the tested door type, frame, strike preparation, handing and installation method before specification or installation.
In practical terms, a Lockwood 002 deadlatch being accepted on one approved fire door assembly does not automatically mean every 002 variation is approved on every fire door. The exact lock, door and certification path still need to match.
