Neptune ZR1007 - IN4007 1 Amp 1000 Volt Diode (Pack of 4)

The Neptune ZR1007 is a general purpose IN4007 silicon rectifier diode rated to 1 Amp and 1000 Volt. Diodes allow electrical current to flow in one direction only and block reverse flow, making them essential for circuit protection.

In access control installations, these diodes are commonly used for back Electromotive Force protection across electric strikes, magnetic locks and relay coils.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why must a diode be installed across a lock?
Electric strikes and magnetic locks generate voltage spikes when power is removed. The diode suppresses this back Electromotive Force to protect control boards and relays.
  • Where is the diode installed?
It is installed directly across the locking device terminals, observing correct polarity.
  • What happens if a diode is not fitted?
Repeated voltage spikes can damage relay contacts or electronic control boards over time.

Additional information icon Additional Information

  • IN4007 diodes are widely used in Australian access control installations for relay and lock coil suppression.
  • The striped end of the diode marks the cathode.
  • Must be installed in parallel across the lock coil.
