CS Technologies 6 Channel RF Receiver - Wiegand - IP65 Housing - CS8204
The CS Technologies CS8204 is a 6 channel radio frequency (RF) receiver designed for long range wireless access control. It decodes compatible CS RF transmitter fobs into a 26-bit Wiegand number and outputs the credential to the correct channel based on which transmitter button is pressed.
Because it connects to an access control panel the same way as a typical Wiegand reader, the receiver can be used to control up to 6 entry points or devices from a single receiver unit. An IP65 weatherproof housing is included.
Key Features
- 6 channel RF receiver with 26-bit Wiegand output.
- Decodes compatible CS RF transmitters and outputs credential per selected channel.
- Connects to the access control panel like a standard Wiegand reader.
- RF transmissions use KEELOQ code hopping encryption technology.
- IP65 weatherproof housing included for outdoor or exposed mounting.
- Supplied with mounting brackets (as part of the unit dimensions listing).

Frequently Asked Questions
- How does this receiver connect to an access control panel?
It connects in the same way as a standard Wiegand reader and outputs 26-bit Wiegand data on separate channels. - How many entry points can one receiver control?
It provides 6 separate Wiegand output channels, allowing up to 6 entry points or devices to be controlled. - What range should I expect in real installations?
The stated range is up to 100 metres in open area, with typical indoor range around 30 metres.
Additional Information
- For reliable long range performance, antenna placement and mounting height matter as much as transmitter strength. Avoid mounting the receiver inside metal cabinets unless provisions are made for signal egress.
- When using multiple channels, label wiring by channel number and transmitter button mapping during commissioning to reduce fault-finding time later.
- If the installation does not need an external weatherproof housing, ordering CS8202 avoids the IP65 enclosure requirement while keeping the same receiver concept.
