ASSA ABLOY SMARTair Update-on-Card Management Kit – 10 Doors

The SMARTair Update-on-Card Management Kit provides the core infrastructure required to deploy a SMARTair electronic access control system managing up to 10 doors.

This kit enables system administrators to create and manage RFID credentials, assign access permissions and update user access rights through the SMARTair Update-on-Card (UOC) architecture.

Update-on-Card systems allow access permissions to be written directly to user credentials using an encoder. When the credential is presented at authorised SMARTair devices, the updated permissions are transferred automatically.

This architecture provides centralised credential management without requiring continuous online network connectivity at each door.

Information icon What is Update-on-Card (UOC)?

SMARTair Update-on-Card systems store access permissions on the RFID credential itself. When a card or tag is updated at the encoder, the updated permissions are transferred to the SMARTair lock or reader when the user presents the credential.

  • Permissions written to the card via the encoder.
  • Credential transfers updates to door devices.
  • No permanent network connection required at each door.
  • Central management with distributed device operation.

This architecture is commonly used in offices, schools, hospitals and commercial buildings where a scalable electronic access system is required without full network infrastructure.
