Lockwood 3772-ADAPTOR — Turn/Latching Adaptor for Selector 3770/3772 MkII Mortice Locks
The Lockwood 3772-ADAPTOR is the factory adaptor used inside the Selector® 3770/3772 MkII mortice lock platform to couple a cylinder or internal turn to the lock’s locking bar and latch train. It is the enabling component for many 3772 escape-lock functions (e.g., with internal turnknob or additional cylinder control) and is required wherever a turn adaptor is specified. This MkII adaptor is purpose-designed for the current Selector case and is not backwards compatible with MkI locks.
Key Features
- MkII turn/latching adaptor for Selector® 3770/3772 MkII mortice locks.
- Interfaces the cylinder/turn to the lock’s internal locking bar for controlled latch retraction and locking.
- Required for 3772 variants using an internal turn (e.g., 3772-T, 3772VT, 3772XT, privacy/escape sub-functions).
- Works in conjunction with X7 cam (latching) and V cam (locking) selections to realise specific functions.
- Through-fix compatible with the MkII case design; installs under the faceplate for in-door configuration.
- Platform integrity: not compatible with MkI Selector locks (use 3770M1-ADAPTOR for MkI).
Specifications
- Item Code: 3772-ADAPTOR
- Compatibility: Selector® 3770/3772 MkII mortice lock cases (escape/combination/privacy functions as specified).
- Associated cams: SP3700/X7CAM (X7 cam), SP3700/VCAM (V cam) — function-dependent.
- Install location: Under faceplate, attaches to the MkII case using the lock’s slip-pin retention.
- Backset impact: None — follows the chosen lock case (60/89/127 mm for 3770 series; short-backset uses different adaptor).
- Compatibility note: Not backwards compatible with MkI (use 3770M1-ADAPTOR on MkI).
Suitable Uses
- Configuring 3772 escape-lock variants that require an internal turn or additional cylinder control.
- Field-setting of functions on MkII Selector cases without replacing the lock body.
- Standardising spares: one MkII case + correct cam/adaptor supports multiple site functions.
Additional Information
- Function realisation depends on the cam choice (X7 vs V) and the presence of turn/cylinder hardware.
- For short-backset Selector (3780 series), a different adaptor is used; do not substitute across platforms.
- When used on fire-rated doors, ensure the overall doorset and function configuration remain compliant.
